Alfred Wierusz-Kowalski (1849–1915) was a leading representative of the Polish artistic community associated with Munich. Since his international debut at the world exhibition in Vienna in 1873, he has enjoyed unwavering interest from painting enthusiasts. His element was realistic, but also idyllic scenes from rural life, from his culture – not work, but leisure. Scenes of wedding processions or carriage rides, atmospheric returns home, or dramatic wolf attacks are the most famous motifs of his paintings.

The artist's mastery lies in his ability to capture the lyrical atmosphere of the end of the day, the change of seasons, the moment of joy or reflection, the ability to convey the essence of the presented world of small Polish towns and noble backwoods and moments from the lives of their inhabitants.

The works of this artist enjoy unflagging interest and are sold in the best art galleries in Europe. The album presents many previously unknown paintings by the painter, including early works and those from his mature, best period of creativity. The photos are accompanied by an extensive description of the painter's life, his achievements and the international environment in which he created – Munich, authored by art historian Eliza Ptaszyńska, who has been involved in the work of painters associated with the Munich environment for years. The album has 128 pages and a format of 300x240 mm, it is bound in a hardcover and was published in 2021 by Bosz Publishing House.
