Anno Mungen, the author of the book, is a prominent musicologist and theater scholar. She studied flute at the Musikhochschule Duisburg, musicology and art history at the Technische Universitt Berlin. She devoted her doctoral dissertation to the Berlin works of Gaspare Spontini. She habilitated in the field of archeology of film music at the University of Mainz. In the years 20052006 she worked as an assistant professor and professor of musicology at the universities of Mainz and Bonn. She carried out major scientific projects: "WagnerWorldWide2013", "Musik - Stimme - Geschlecht" and "Musiktheater in Nrnberg im Nationalsozialismus". In 2018, she curated the exhibition "Hitler.Macht.Oper" in Nuremberg, and in 2021 she published a chronicle of Wieland Wagner's artistic career at Westend-Verlag in Frankfurt am Main.
