Jan Galarowicz, continuing the research of the Krakow Anthropological School, created a multi-volume philosophy of man entitled Antropodramatyka. In this publication, the author unmasks modern illusions about happiness, polemicizing with the false understanding of freedom, the idea of self-realization and hedonism. He shows the solid foundations of happiness and the paths leading to it. He also asks whether absolute happiness is possible. The author expresses his reflections in an essayistic-popularizing style, which makes them clear and accessible.
The book is intended not only for philosophers, but also for psychologists, educators and pastors, as well as for all those who care about a deeper understanding of themselves and a more beautiful life. Galarowicz primarily unmasks modern illusions about happiness, polemicizing with the false understanding of freedom, the idea of self-realization and hedonism. He then shows the solid foundations of happiness and the paths leading to it. He also asks whether absolute happiness is possible.
The great cultural dispute we are currently dealing with is essentially a dispute about man. Joining this dispute and continuing the research of the Krakow Anthropological School, Jan Galarowicz is developing a multi-volume philosophy of man entitled Antropodramatyka. He devoted the first two volumes to the thinkers who inspired him to search for the truth about man and still accompany him on this path. In turn, the subject of analysis of the next two volumes are elementary, fundamental and momentous anthropological phenomena: the desire for happiness and suffering, which the author treats as the key to the truth about man. And so, in the third volume (Antropodramatyka. We are all Jobs) he discussed suffering. The present volume is devoted to reflection on happiness.
