SPECTERS OF RÓŻEWICZ - BARTOSZ KOWALIK

Bartosz Kowalik's book "Specters of Różewicz" is a pioneering analysis of Tadeusz Różewicz's poetic works from the perspective of specters and afterimages. The author fills a gap in Różewicz studies by presenting a spectrological argument that proves that all of Różewicz's work is spectrological. Kowalik introduces a spectral perspective, making the work transparent and epistemologically convincing.

Bartosz Kowalik, a doctoral student of literary studies at the Doctoral School of Humanities at the Jagiellonian University, presents an innovative view of Tadeusz Różewicz's work in his work. His analysis, based on deconstruction and spectrology, allows for a new reading of Różewicz's poetry, showing it as a space in which the past and present, life and death, the real and the unreal interpenetrate. Kowalik, giving justice to other researchers, introduces a spectral perspective, which makes the whole work transparent and epistemologically convincing.

When reading Różewicz's work, the author does not examine the motifs, the theme or the metaphor, but skillfully and sometimes daringly conducts a spectrological argument. He proves that all of Różewicz's work is spectrological to varying degrees and intensities. If so, the dominant must change both within the text, immanent, and analytical, reading. Kowalik introduces the spectral perspective directly, which makes the whole work transparent and epistemologically convincing. This applies to the choice of meta-language, and this for Kowalik comes from the world of deconstruction in its best, original form, i.e. from the writings (especially the late ones) of Jacques Derrida.

Bartosz Kowalik's work fills a gap in Różewicz studies to a more than very good degree. When reading this work, the author does not examine the motifs, the theme or the metaphor, but skillfully and sometimes daringly conducts a spectrological argument. In other words, he proves that all of Różewicz's work is spectrological (to varying degrees and intensities). If so, the dominant must change both within the text, immanent, and analytical, reading.
