Ludwig van Beethoven, born in Bonn in 1770, was a German composer and pianist, widely regarded as one of the most important figures in the history of music. His work spans the transitional period between the Classical and Romantic eras, and his innovative compositions, such as symphonies, sonatas, and string quartets, had a tremendous impact on the development of classical music.

From a young age, Beethoven displayed extraordinary musical talent. His father, Johann van Beethoven, was a strict teacher who sought to make his son a child prodigy in the mold of Mozart. Young Ludwig practiced for hours, and his first public performances took place when he was just a few years old. At the age of 22, he moved to Vienna, where he quickly gained recognition as a pianist and composer.

One of the greatest challenges in Beethoven's life was the progressive loss of his hearing. The first symptoms appeared when he was about 26 years old, and over time the composer became almost completely deaf. Despite this obstacle, Beethoven did not give up and continued to create music. Many of his most famous works, including the Ninth Symphony, were created after he lost his hearing. Beethoven died in Vienna in 1827, leaving behind a rich musical legacy that inspires and moves listeners around the world.

The book "To ja, Beethoven" is a wonderful opportunity to introduce children to the figure of this outstanding composer and inspire them to discover the world of music. Through this reading, young readers will learn not only about Beethoven's life story, but also about values such as determination, passion, and self-belief.
