Eilean Ni Chuilleanáin was born in Cork, Ireland in 1942. Her debut "Acts and Monuments" (1972) was honored with the Patrick Kavanagh Award. She is the author of nine books of poetry, including "The Sun-Fish" (2009), which received the international Griffin Poetry Prize, and "The Mother House" (2019), which was awarded the Poetry Now Award.
