In global jurisprudence and legal theory, we are witnessing a resurgence of interest in the thought of Gustav Radbruch, an eminent legal philosopher, lawyer - specialist in criminal law, politician, and humanist with an extraordinary sense of justice. There is still debate on the practical application of the so-called Radbruch formula in court jurisprudence, which justifies the punishability of human rights violations in authoritarian regimes. This book outlines the "third way" in the dispute between legal positivism and the natural law approach. It is not a compromise position in the "middle", but a separate, original and current concept that reveals the apparent nature of the dispute between these historical doctrines.

Law based on the triad of values - justice, expediency and the rule of law - is the central point of the system of philosophy of law created by Radbruch. In his opinion, a theory of law devoid of philosophical grounding would be flawed: the high theoretical and philosophical level ensures its relevance despite the passage of time. Gustav Radbruch (1878-1949) - German lawyer and philosopher of law, professor at the universities of Königsberg, Cologne, Heidelberg, member of the Reichstag, Minister of Justice (1921-1923). Next to Weber and Kelsen, one of the brightest figures of this era. As the first professor removed from office by the National Socialists, deprived of state dignities in 1933, he did not return to the university until after the end of World War II.

Philosophy of law is the most important position in Radbruch's output of over 20 volumes. In Poland, his time is just coming - a democratic state governed by the rule of law cannot do without either the Radbruch formula or legal education based on his project, developed with expertise and commitment, which is still extremely up-to-date. This edition contains 400 pages, in the format of 16.8x23.8 cm and was published in 2009 by the Scientific Publishing House PWN. Allow yourself a deep understanding of the philosophy of law and its impact on the modern world.
