The monograph discusses the battles of the 8th Infantry Division near Ossów and Okuniew as part of the operations conducted by the 1st Army of the Polish Army on the Warsaw bridgehead in August 1920. Written on the basis of documents stored in the Central Military Archives of the Military Historical Bureau and based on the latest literature on the subject, it presents in detail the state of organization, numbers, tasks and losses of the Polish and Soviet sides during the Battle of Warsaw. The work does not omit aspects related to the formation and battles of the division in the earlier period, which included battles in Belarus.

The book contains original maps drawn on the basis of maps of the Military Geographical Institute. In addition, it contains photos and an appendix: with a list of soldiers who fell and died of wounds, awarded Virtuti Militari, and a list of commanders down to the infantry company. Despite the fact that the topic of the book was the subject of Bolesław Waligóra's research, it required thorough research. As a result, the Author made new findings to Polish military historiography, putting forward a number of his own conclusions. The work was created to commemorate the 105th anniversary of the Battle of Warsaw and in connection with the opening of the Museum of the Battle of Warsaw in Ossów.
