This book is an expression of the conviction that there are numerous and strong ties between Słowacki and Grotowski, and at the same time an opportunity to reflect on them. The publication contains materials from the two-day conference "Kości mi wewnętrzne połamał. Słowacki and Grotowski – Recontextualizations", organized in December 2009 by the Jerzy Grotowski Institute in Wrocław and the Department of Drama of the Faculty of Polish Studies at the Jagiellonian University.

Dariusz Kosiński, the author of one of the essays, emphasizes that the relationships between Słowacki and Grotowski are deeper and more significant than just the fact that they reach for texts. Both artists were characterized by an extraordinary dynamic of creative attitude, encompassing both life and art.
