Kamil Kozakowski's book is a monograph devoted to the analysis of models of Georgian culture that functioned in Polish literature in the 19th century. After the November Uprising, many Poles were sent to the Caucasus as punishment, which seemed to be a foreign and exotic region. Knowledge about it was scarce and often marked by mythologizing ideas. Polish exiles and travelers kept diaries in which they described the local peoples and nature, and Christian Georgia seemed particularly close and attractive to them.

Poles saw similarities between the history of Georgia and the history of Poland, as well as in the behavior of representatives of both cultures. This translated into an interest in Georgian culture, history, and literature. Many accounts from the Caucasus were published in the Polish press or published in book form, which strongly influenced the perception of the Caucasus and Georgia in Polish culture. This monograph analyzes these models of Georgian culture that functioned in Polish literature in the 19th century.

Kamil Kozakowski, the author of the book, is a cultural scholar and doctor of humanities in the field of cultural and religious studies. His scientific interests focus on the history and anthropology of culture. This book is an important publishing proposal that organizes the 19th-century state of knowledge about Georgian culture and the ways it is presented in Polish literature. Based on extensive source literature, the author reconstructs the image of Georgia disseminated through various types of publications, revealing the state of knowledge about the history of this country, its scenic values, and its rich cultural traditions.

From the review by Prof. Dr. habil. Ewa Kosowska from the University of Silesia in Katowice, we learn that this work is worth publishing, and that the author excellently organizes knowledge about Georgian culture in Polish literature. This book is a valuable source of knowledge for all those interested in Polish-Georgian history, culture, and literature.
