Krzysztof Medyna, born in 1949 in Jelenia Góra, grew up in a family with rich musical traditions. His grandfather, Aleksander Szwarc, was the conductor of the Representative Orchestra of the Polish Army, and his mother studied piano at the Music Conservatory in Warsaw. It was in this environment that his passion for music developed, which led him to the top of the Polish jazz scene.

In the 1970s, Medyna was a member of the Quidam Jazz Quartet and co-founder of the Breakwater group. At that time, he also served as the leader of the accompanying band of Jerzy Połomski during his concert tours in Poland, Czechoslovakia, East Germany and the Soviet Union. His talent and versatility made him a valued musician in various artistic circles.

In 1982, Krzysztof Medyna traveled to the USA, where, as a professional saxophonist, he began working with the hermetic jazz environment of New York. His music gained recognition among American critics and audiences, and he himself became an important figure in the local jazz world. In February 2007, together with the Komeda Project quintet, he participated in the recording of the album "Crazy Girl", and in 2009 he performed with Adam Makowicz.
