The correspondence from 1945-1958 includes 48 letters from Jarosław Iwaszkiewicz and Tadeusz Kwiatkowski, transcribed and edited, and annotated by Agnieszka and Robert Papieski, editors of Jarosław Iwaszkiewicz's diaries and Anna and Jarosław's letters with many correspondents. The letters of Iwaszkiewicz and Kwiatkowski help to better understand the lively literary life of post-war Poland and post-war Krakow. Many famous writers, who came from the capital destroyed after the Warsaw Uprising, lived there temporarily or permanently. Existential problems intertwine with environmental gossip, the everyday worries of writers as well as authorities and union activists are shown. Both correspondents devoted a significant part of their activity to environmental issues, Iwaszkiewicz on a national scale, Kwiatkowski in the Krakow branch.

These letters are therefore an opportunity to get acquainted with the literary life of post-war Krakow, but also Zakopane from the perspective of the community of professional writers who survived the war, and young creators who debuted after the war. The correspondence mainly concerns the organization of literary life at the level of the Krakow branch, then gradually other threads appear outside union matters, largely private. Much concerns politics, people, attitudes, existential and literary matters, there is no shortage of anecdotes. There are events from the private lives of both protagonists, their travels, plans or obstacles to their implementation.

The cognitive value of the correspondence is developed and supplemented in the contextual and biographical notes, very competently prepared by Agnieszka and Robert Papieski. The introduction written by Robert Papieski presents the person of Tadeusz Kwiatkowski in more detail. This block of Jarosław Iwaszkiewicz's correspondence is a culturally and cognitively important event, another element of the rich epistolary heritage of one of the most important Polish writers of the 20th century, a fragment of the native cultural heritage.
