Małgorzata Runiewicz-Wardyn, the author of the publication, is a professor of economics at Koźmiński University in Warsaw and a researcher at the Transformation, Integration and Globalization Economic Research Centre. She was twice a postdoctoral Visiting Fellow at the Centre for European Studies of Harvard University (2008 and 2009), the Institute of Urban and Regional Development of the Berkeley University of California (2008), University College London (UCL) (2013) and Universit Libre de Bruxelles (ULB). She is the author of numerous scientific publications and an expert in EU-funded research projects related to the knowledge economy, information society, innovation systems, regional economics and international competitiveness.
