"The Last Haven" is a comic that was created in the mid-1980s, in times of real threat of nuclear conflict and the Chernobyl disaster. The author, inspired by these events, created a grim vision of the future, in which a handful of survivors of atomic destruction flee aboard spaceships to find a new home on a nameless planet. There, in the north and south, new colonies are formed, but mutual contacts are limited, and the groups of rescued people develop differently.

At the center of the story is a young scientist, Martin, who learns from the remnants of messages that the sun around which the new planet revolves may turn into a supernova, which threatens another catastrophe. His discovery contradicts official calculations, which forces Martin to take desperate steps to warn others about the impending danger. Together with Professor Demios, he tries to break through to recent enemies to clarify the doubts on the spot, facing the hostile climate of the planet and equatorial anomalies.

The comic "The Last Haven" is not only a story of survival, but also of hope and determination in the face of disaster. It is a story about how people, despite difficulties and conflicts, can unite to face a common threat. This comic, although created in specific historical realities, remains relevant to this day, reminding us of the fragility of our world and the need to care for the future.

The drawings by Marek Szyszko, known from the legendary "Relax" and the series "Polish Travelers", add a unique atmosphere and realism to the comic. His line, full of details and expression, perfectly captures the gloomy mood of the post-apocalyptic world and the emotions of the characters.
