Marian Podgóreczny, the author of the book, was himself an AK soldier and participated in the events described. His account is authentic and full of emotion. For years, he collected materials for the history of his unit, talked to comrades-in-arms and analyzed archival documents. As a result, he created a work that gives a complete picture of the activities of the Stołpecko-Nalibocki AK Group.
The book "Doliniacy" is not only a story of struggle, but also a story of people who, in the face of danger, retained their dignity and faith in victory. It is a tribute to the AK soldiers who gave their lives for a free Poland. It is also an attempt to understand the complicated Polish-Soviet and Polish-German relations during World War II.
The history of the Stołpecko-Nalibocki AK Group is one of the most glorious chapters in the Polish partisan movement during World War II. It was, alongside the Zamość OP 9 pp AK Group and the Nowogródek battalions of the 77 pp AK, the longest operating large partisan unit of the Home Army. It had 19 months of continuous fighting behind it, first with the Germans, then with the Bolsheviks and again with the Germans. Its combat record includes approximately 230 actions and fights with both of the aforementioned enemies.
