Melchior Pudłowski, creating his fraszki, drew from the rich heritage of antiquity, drawing inspiration from Anacreontics and Roman elegists. He also did not shy away from Neo-Latin poetry, where Andrea Alciato, Andrzej Krzycki and Klemens Janicjusz charted the paths of literary exploration. However, it was the work of Czarnolas, especially the fraszki of Jan Kochanowski, that became the main point of reference for him. Pudłowski not only imitated the master, but also sought to capture the complexity of his lyrical tones, combining jokes and satirical digs with contemplation on the mechanisms governing the world.

Pudłowski's collection of fraszki is not only a literary imitation, but also an attempt to create a work of deep humanistic value. The author, imitating Kochanowski, wanted to reflect the complexity of human experience, showing both its bright and dark sides. In his fraszki we find both jokes and satirical digs, as well as reflections on transience, love and death. It is poetry that entertains and teaches, encourages reflection and helps us better understand the world.
