Marek Wołodkowicz, born in Bydgoszcz in the 1960s, is a man with a rich biography. After graduating from post-secondary school with a major in radio and television technology, in the difficult times of martial law, he decided to emigrate. His path led through Italy, until he finally settled in New York in 1985. There, through hard work, he gradually built his new life.

His experiences are extremely diverse. From cleaning and painting houses, through working in potato fields, to driving a taxi in Detroit and running his own movement rehabilitation clinic. Traveling around the United States, he got to know the country and made valuable contacts. All these experiences inspired him to write a book based on facts.

"Pictures from an Exhibition" is a collection of memories from prison, accounts of mafia contacts and stories of stock market speculation. It is a story about people who found themselves on the margins of society, about their struggle for survival and about the choices they had to make. This book is not only a record of memories, but also an attempt to understand the mechanisms governing the world of crime and human nature.
