Andrzej Piechocki's book is not only a collection of stories but also a testimony to the history of Bydgoszcz. Andrzej Piechocki, born in 1938 in Bydgoszcz, is a zoologist by profession. He graduated from the University of Łódź, where he worked until his retirement, serving as the head of the Department of Invertebrate Zoology and Hydrobiology from 1991 to 2008. In 1991 he received the title of professor. He is the author of over 100 scientific papers and books devoted to the domestic and African mollusk fauna and hydrobiological issues. After retiring (2008), he took up literary work. So far, he has published four novels, two of which: "Citizen Jan P." (2018) and "Dancing Flamingos" (2023) take place, among others, in Bydgoszcz. He is a member of the Bydgoszcz branch of the Association of Polish Writers. He takes up social, cultural and natural topics.
