REMOTE WORK. DUTIES AND RIGHTS OF EMPLOYEES - COLLECTIVE WORK

In today's world, remote work has become an integral part of the professional landscape. Dynamically changing laws and regulations require employers and employees to constantly adapt to new conditions. This publication is an essential guide to the complexities of remote work, helping to understand and implement appropriate procedures and protect the interests of both parties. Ideal for HR specialists, lawyers, and managers who want to stay up-to-date with the latest trends and legal regulations.

  • Current regulations of the Labor Code from 2023.
  • Practical tips on implementing remote work.
  • Answers to frequently asked questions about remote work.
  • Overview of the employer's obligations towards remote employees.
  • Detailed explanations on the principles of documenting remote work.

The provisions on remote work, introduced into the Labor Code in 2023, required employers to implement appropriate procedures and changes in internal regulations. Previously, this form of work was regulated by the provisions of a special law enacted in connection with the COVID-19 epidemic. In the Labor Code, on the other hand, there have been provisions on telework for many years, which also allowed work from home. A year after the entry into force of the new regulations governing this method of performing work, it is worth checking whether the appropriate procedures and changes in internal regulations have been implemented correctly. In practice, individual issues often raised doubts. Although some of them have been resolved, new ones have emerged in practice.

Since November 17, 2023, it has been necessary to equip workstations - also those in the form of remote work - with a stationary screen monitor or stand, as well as an additional keyboard and mouse, if the remote employee uses a portable computer system (e.g. a laptop) for at least half of the daily working time. In the case of workstations existing before this date, employers must adapt them to the minimum requirements for safety and health at work and ergonomics specified in the new regulations by May 17, 2024. The guide "Remote work" explains the practical issues related to the application and documentation of remote work.

The reader will learn from the publication, among other things, what work cannot be performed remotely, how to introduce remote work, what occasional remote work is, and what obligations the employer has towards remote employees. The guide also contains answers to frequently asked questions related to the implementation of remote work principles. The publication is intended for all people who use remote work in their organizations and want to expand their knowledge in this area. It will be of particular interest to specialists from HR departments and internal legal departments, as well as managers. ADVANTAGES OF THE PUBLICATION: The guide "Remote work" explains the practical issues related to the application and documentation of remote work. The latest changes in the field of occupational health and safety are also illustrated on the poster "Workstation equipped with a screen monitor" attached to the publication.
