In 1890, in the basement under the pharmacy, Wiktoria is born, the illegitimate daughter of the pharmacist and the young maid, Hanka. From the moment of birth, the little girl is doomed to death, as the father gets rid of all his offspring from unlawful marriage. On the same day, Klementyna, the pharmacist's wife, also gives birth to a daughter, but the girl soon dies. The midwife secretly swaps the newborns, thus saving the life of little Wiktoria. Exhausted from the difficult birth, Hanka dies, not knowing that her daughter will survive. Before her death, she curses the pharmacist and his descendants, including, unfortunately, her own child.
Franciszek Bernat dreams only of a son to whom he could pass on the pharmacy, he treats his daughter as a necessary evil. Hanka's curse can only be lifted by forgiveness. Will Wiktoria be able to forgive her father? What will be the fate of the next women from the Bernat family? Each of them has difficult relationships with their father, each cultivates resentment and anger within themselves, which will affect their entire lives. This is how the curse cast in the 19th century by Hanka works. Will it finally be possible to break this streak of bad luck?
