The study begins with considerations regarding the treatment of crimes against freedom in Polish penal codes (1932-1997), freedom as an object of protection in criminal law, and the object of attack and the protection of crimes from Chapter XXIII of the Polish penal code from a psychological point of view. The following chapters cover individual crimes in the order of their regulation in Chapter XXIII of the Polish penal code. Each crime was discussed according to a clear scheme, which is mainly based on the doctrinal division of the statutory features of the crime.
The publication is dogmatic in nature, because the subject of analysis are legal norms and statements of doctrine and jurisprudence. However, it is supplemented by a statistical analysis of the discussed crimes, which undoubtedly increases the cognitive value of the entire study. Almost all literature was used, and the omitted items do not affect the quality of the monograph. The individual issues are presented in an understandable and accessible way, although some are complicated.
The work is prepared reliably and properly documented. It is characterized by a very good substantive level and is an interesting and scientific presentation of crimes against freedom and related problems, prepared in compliance with methodological and linguistic requirements. It is a valuable source of knowledge for all those interested in criminal law and the protection of freedom in society.
