Józef Andrasz SJ (1891-1963) joined the Society of Jesus at the age of nearly fifteen. Over the following decades of his religious and priestly life, he consistently used his versatile talents - in accordance with the intention of St. Ignatius of Loyola - for the greater glory of God. His involvement in popularizing topics related to spiritual life, the cult of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Apostleship of Prayer makes him an extremely important figure for the Polish Church.

Stanisława Bogdańska's book shows him not only as involved in popularizing topics related to spiritual life, the cult of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Apostleship of Prayer, but also as a man leading a deep spiritual life and a valued retreat master, confessor and spiritual director. Father Józef Andrasz fulfilled to the highest degree the task that is the mission of the Jesuits: "To accompany souls".

He helped many lay and consecrated people on their way to holiness, but his most famous penitent is St. Faustina Kowalska, for whom he was the first and last confessor and spiritual director. He also supported her on the difficult path of proclaiming the message of God's mercy to the world. It is on the pages of the Diary that the words of Jesus have been preserved, who called Father Andrasz a friend of his Heart (Diary 967). On February 1, 2025, his beatification process began.
