Chronicles of the Good Change is a collection of columns published in Tygodnik Powszechny in 2016-2023, a period that the author calls the era of the Good Change. Stanisław Mancewicz, with extraordinary consistency and courage, records the absurdities of Polish politics and public life in recent years. His style makes it difficult to break away from this reading, and each column is a dose of sharp wit and irony.

Michał Komar places Mancewicz in line with Gallus Anonymus, Kadłubek, and Długosz, seeing him as a contemporary chronicler. However, the tone of this chronicle is completely different: full of irony, sarcasm, and sharp wit. It is a satirical fresco in which tragedy mixes with grotesque, and political reality becomes disturbingly close to the commedia dell'arte.

Mancewicz's columns reveal a Poland ruled by the Host and his entourage, a country full of contradictions, irrational decisions, political myths, and national resentments. It is also a portrait of a society that tries to find itself in this reality, sometimes helplessly, often with an ironic smile. Thanks to his precise language and insightful observations, Mancewicz creates a chronicle that entertains, but above all, makes you think. The book has 232 pages and a format of 132x205 mm.
