This edition of "Lost Future" is based on the edition of the Iskry publishing house from 1957, in which the authors returned to the original concepts of the book, published in installments in the "Illustrowany Kurier Polski" in 1953-1954. The first book edition from 1954 differed significantly from this version due to the imposed editorial changes. This is a unique opportunity to get acquainted with the original vision of the authors without compromises and censorship.
The novel takes place in 2407, aboard the almeralite satellite Celestia, which set off from the Solar System towards Alpha Centauri. For many generations, about five thousand people have been drifting on a hopeless journey, creating a highly divided society into castes of slaves, workers, technicians, scientists, and rulers. Celestia is ruled by the autocratic rule of a few families who decided to flee Earth years ago. Living conditions on the station are deteriorating, and a revolt of the inhabitants coincides with the appearance of a modern ship from Earth, Astrobolid, near Celestia. The dictator of the habitat does not inform the population about this fact and does everything to destroy the Earth ship.
