SOIL COMPACTION USING MICRO-EXPLOSIONS - EUGENIUSZ DEMBICKI

Discover a fascinating method of soil compaction that is revolutionizing civil engineering! Eugeniusz Dembicki's book is a compendium of knowledge on the use of micro-explosions to strengthen the subsoil under structures. Learn the secrets of this innovative technique that combines economy and efficiency in one.

  • The cheapest and most efficient method of soil strengthening.
  • Explanation of the compaction mechanism based on field studies.
  • Dimensioning of explosive charges based on experimental values.
  • Theoretical calculations of the compaction of water-saturated granular soils.
  • Application for the foundation of heavy structures.
  • Reclamation of underwater sea embankments.

This book is an attempt to explain the mechanisms of the formation of loads of fragmented granular and slightly cohesive soil partially saturated with water during compaction by micro-explosions. The author presents a computational method for dimensioning the compaction caused by the explosion, based on experimental and theoretical studies, both own and foreign. The mechanism of the probability theory model was used to develop the research results.

The application of new methods of soil improvement or strengthening is crucial for the foundation of increasingly heavy structures, which take into account the long period of their use and impact on the environment. This includes the reclamation of underwater sea embankments and various types of underground structures. At present, the mechanism of the compaction process is better explained by techniques relating to surface compaction than by the mechanism used in deep and great depth methods, where the increasing number of degrees of freedom leads to a higher degree of complexity of this mechanism.

The method of compacting granular and slightly cohesive soils using micro-explosions, which is the subject of this book, is known as one of the cheapest and most efficient methods of soil strengthening. In order to determine the compacting effect of micro-explosions, it was assumed that the effect of the micro-explosion causes a residual water pressure in the pores of the soil, the skeleton of which consolidates under the influence of its own weight. The dimensioning of explosive charges, including their distribution on the surface and at depth in the soil to be compacted, as well as the detonation sequence, was based on experimentally determined values obtained in field studies.

Get ready for a fascinating journey into the depths of geotechnical engineering and discover the potential of micro-explosions in soil compaction! This book is an essential source of knowledge for engineers, geotechnical engineers and all those interested in modern methods of soil strengthening.
