PREVENTING SOCIAL CONFLICTS. THEORETICAL AND EMPIRICAL ASPECTS
The book "Preventing Social Conflicts. Theoretical and Empirical Aspects" proposes a new approach to the complex nature of social conflicts. Unlike the prevailing publications that focus on resolving and managing conflicts, this work focuses on preventing them at various levels of social life. The authors argue that systemic conflict prevention consists of creating rules of social order that minimize the emergence of "unnecessary" conflicts.
- A new approach to social conflicts
- Focus on preventing conflicts, not just resolving them
- Systemic analysis of conflict prevention mechanisms
- Practical advice for individuals and institutions dealing with social problems
- Expert reviews confirming the unconventional nature of the work
The systemic approach to preventing social conflicts focuses on shaping the rules of social order that minimize the emergence of conflicts deemed "unnecessary". Although conflicts cannot be completely eliminated from social life, many of the functions they perform in society can be achieved without resorting to violence or coercion. Every conflict is a kind of social trap, so it is crucial to find effective methods to avoid such situations.
The authors emphasize that the understanding of power should not be limited only to coercion and imposition of will, and conflict should not be seen only as an instrument for introducing social changes. Adopting such a perspective allows the problem of conflict prevention to be shifted from the margins of scientific reflection to the central point of analysis, treating it as a real and important strategy for action.
This book is aimed at a wide audience, including representatives of social sciences, specialists in solving social problems, decision-makers shaping public policies, managers, trade union activists, activists of social movements, students of social sciences, as well as all people who have experienced conflicts in their lives. This publication offers valuable tools and perspectives that can contribute to building more harmonious and effective social relationships.
The emphasis on the phenomenon of preventing social conflicts and the consistent analysis of this phenomenon testify to the unconventional nature of the work in the field of Polish sociology.
