Discover the fascinating history of the postal stamp trade in the Free City of Danzig (WMG) thanks to the monograph by Andrzej Emeryk. This book documents the activities of philatelic shops and philatelists in the years 1920-1939 and after the annexation by the German Reich in 1939. It is not only a journey through time, but also an insightful analysis of historical sources.
- Documentation of an important part of Danzig's history
- Detailed study of the postal stamp trade in WMG
- Use of the author's own source material
- Assistance from philatelist colleagues in data collection
- Collection of stamps, seals, cards and letters from WMG
This monograph is the result of the passion and commitment of the author, who bases it on the collection of his father, pharmacist Edward Emeryk. It was he who began collecting the first stamps from WMG even before the outbreak of World War II. Thanks to this, the book combines personal experiences with a solid scientific approach, which makes it extremely valuable for every philately and Danzig history enthusiast.
This book is an invaluable source of knowledge for philatelists, historians and anyone interested in the history of the Free City of Danzig. The author, Andrzej Emeryk, put a great effort into documenting this important part of Danzig's trade history, which makes it an extremely valuable title on the publishing market. This publication will certainly contribute to expanding knowledge about the then postal stamp trade in WMG.
This monograph is an attempt to document an important fragment of the history of trade in Gdańsk, which was the trade in postal items in the Free City of Gdańsk (WMG). This was possible thanks to having its own source material documenting the activities of philatelic stores and philatelists during the existence of the WMG in the years 19201939 and after its annexation by the German Reich in 1939. The help of fellow philatelists also proved invaluable. The collection of stamps, seals, cards and letters from WMG, which is in my possession, was founded by my father, mgr. pharmacy Edward Emeryk (19261975), and he collected the first WMG stamps even before the outbreak of World War II. I hope that this monograph will contribute to enriching and expanding knowledge about the then trade in postal items in WMG.
