Antony Polonsky and Anna Jarmusiewicz, recognized experts in the field of the history of Polish-Jewish relations, invite you to a dialogue about the common heritage. Professor Antony Polonsky initiated this type of global debate as early as the 1980s with his yearbooks "Polin". This discussion promotes the expansion of knowledge and shows the true, fuller history of Poland from a different perspective - a country that for centuries was multinational and multicultural, and shared its history and culture with the history and culture of other nations.

The book brings closer the Polish-Jewish heritage in many aspects of life: starting from political and legal matters, through economic, spiritual, cultural, and ending with customs. It shows that tolerance in Poland, in some periods greater than in other European countries, favored the development of various nations - and was particularly important for the history and identity of Jews. The authors emphasize how rich and often complementary our economic, cultural and spiritual contacts were - also original on a European scale. They also show that the reality of common history, also in ancient centuries, was by no means static, although different memories remained of it.

This publication has cognitive and educational goals, responding to the growing interest in the subject of Polish-Jewish relations in various generations and environments. The book can be read both by a reader who wants to deepen their knowledge and by someone who would like to correct this knowledge in the light of comprehensive analyzes by Prof. Polonsky, based on new research. The book helps to present the history of Poland more fully, as well as to explain the discrepancies in the assessments of our identities, autostereotypes and historical myths. The partner of the project is the Museum of the History of Polish Jews POLIN. Paperback edition, 216 pages, format 144x208 mm.
