The Type VII, to which the U-52 belonged, was the most produced and one of the most effective models. U-52, ordered in 1937 and commissioned in 1939, operated under the command of Kapitänleutnant Wolfgang Barten. He took part in the Battle of the Atlantic, completed eight patrols and sank thirteen Allied ships. It reached a speed of 17.9 knots on the surface and 8 knots submerged. It was finally sunk in Gdańsk in 1945 and dismantled from 1946 to 1947. Now you can build its model from Cobi bricks and feel the spirit of those times!
