The book presents the most important points in the history of the Faith and Light movement in Poland over the course of more than forty years of the existence of communities in our country that bring together people with intellectual disabilities, their families and friends. The richly illustrated outline of the history of Faith and Light contained in the publication ends in 2014, but the life of the communities continues. We trust that in some time further chapters of this sacred history will be added.

The Faith and Light movement in the world is an ecumenical movement, in Poland the communities are mostly made up of people of the Roman Catholic faith. Currently, Polish communities are grouped into four autonomous provinces. Over the years, everything changes: the political situation of the country, human decisions, structures, coordinators, chaplains, community needs, meeting places..., but the Spirit of Faith and Light remains the same. The divine invitation to this unique way of life with the poor, in which everyone can personally grow and contribute to the growth of many others whom we have already met or will be given the opportunity to meet, remains unchanged and still relevant.

This publication is not only a valuable source of knowledge about the history of the Faith and Light movement in Poland, but also an inspiration for further action and building a community based on mutual respect, acceptance and love. It is a story of people who have found their place in the world and who, despite difficulties, can enjoy life and share joy with others. This book is a testimony to the strength of spirit and faith that can overcome all obstacles and build bridges between people.
