The first part of the book focuses on the analysis of the political system of Francoism, showing its structure, mechanisms of operation and ideological foundations. The authors discuss in detail the organs of power, the relations between them and the role of individual actors in shaping state policy. The repressions and mechanisms of social control characteristic of the Franco regime are also analyzed.
The second part is devoted to the "political families" (familias políticas), i.e. various interest groups and factions that competed for influence within the regime. The authors analyze their origins, ideologies and strategies, showing the internal tensions and conflicts that characterized Francoism. Biographies of key figures associated with individual "political families" are also presented.
The third part of the book considers various (geopolitical, ideological and theoretical) contexts of Francoism. The authors analyze the relations between Franco's Spain and other countries, both during World War II and during the Cold War. The ideological sources of Francoism, its connections with Falangism, Catholicism and Traditionalism are also discussed. In addition, the theoretical aspects of Francoism, its place in the history of political doctrines and its influence on contemporary right-wing movements are analyzed.
The book "Spain under Franco" is a valuable source of knowledge for all those interested in the history of Spain, totalitarian systems and the issues of historical memory. Its interdisciplinary nature and bilingualism make it particularly attractive to students, scientists and a wide audience.
