Jerzy Mirosław Płachecki, born in 1949, is a graduate of the State Theater Technical School in Warsaw and the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Łódź. Since 1968, he has been actively involved in equestrianism, a member of the National Team in 1988-1989, awarded the Honorary Golden Badge of the Polish Equestrian Association. He is a promoter of equestrian tradition and culture, a long-time collaborator of the monthly "Koń Polski", in which he published articles on historical topics. He was a guest author in the monthly magazines "Świat koni", "Focus Historia", and was nominated for the Local Press 2010 award in the "History" category.
