The autobiography The Inheritance of the Great-Grandfather: A Story was published by Kadia Mołodowska in the quarterly "Swiwe" in the years 1964 - 1975. The author described her life from childhood (but omitting her early years), through her youth and middle age. She devoted much space to describing her own education and work with children, vividly characterizing the people she associated with - colleagues from Hebrew courses in Warsaw, the charismatic director Jechiel Halperin and other teachers. She also wrote warmly about people she met during her wanderings through the cities of present-day Ukraine, writers and educators. At that time, she met Symcha Lew, a historian and publicist, whom she soon married.

She settled again in Warsaw, where she became part of the Jewish literary environment and got to know life in a poor district. Similarly, when she came to America, she was intrigued by two worlds - the literature and culture of Yiddish, as well as the world of Jewish ordinary people. With great enthusiasm and zeal, she described her life in Israel, where she lived for over two years. There she was able to meet old friends from before the war, from Europe, and find a common language and common interests with them.
