Krakow's Kazimierz, a satellite of the capital city Krakow, delights with its wealth of history and culture. For centuries before the town was founded, to which King Casimir the Great gave his own name, intensive settlement developed here. It focused, among other things, on Skałka with a temple, which in its subsequent incarnations: Romanesque, Gothic and Baroque entered national history and legend thanks to St. Stanislaus, Bishop. The town's location plan (partially preserved, partially theoretically reconstructed) is one of the leading works of medieval urban planning.

The dominant sphere of sacrum in the urban space is represented by both Gothic and Baroque churches and monasteries, as well as numerous synagogues, which have been built since the end of the 15th century. The richness of spiritual life and the autonomy of Kazimierz as a district of Krakow in the 19th and 20th centuries are expressed in the traditions of St. Brother Albert, as well as eminent representatives of the Jewish community, with Rabbis Berem Meisels and Ozjasz Thon at the forefront. The Jewish community was reborn after the tragedy of the Holocaust, and the faithful, as centuries ago, gather at the tomb of Moses Isserles, a sage who lived in the 16th century.
