The book "Łódź Buildings 1945–1970" is not only an architectural chronicle but also a story about people and their aspirations in the difficult times of post-war reconstruction. The authors present the transformations of the urban layout, new communication routes, actions to widen streets, and the creation of parks and squares, which aimed to organize the urban space. During this time, Łódź gained a new shape, becoming an important industrial and cultural center, with public utility buildings such as the National Theater (Wielki), sports hall, department stores and service establishments, and office buildings.

The publication discusses in detail the construction of the buildings of the Technical University and the University, new housing estates, schools, so-called Millennium schools, and industrial facilities such as EC2 and Elta. The image of the changes is complemented by the characteristics of investments related to sacral architecture and the presentation of newly emerging Łódź monuments.
