SUBLIMATION. TEN SHORT DREAM STORIES - MAGDALENA GRZESIAK
Discover the world of dreams and emotions in the prose of Magdalena Grzesiak. "Sublimation" is a collection of ten short stories that transport the reader into an oneiric reality, where love drama intertwines with the grotesque. It is an ideal read for those seeking deep, psychological content in an unconventional form.
- Inventive prose, combining sadness and fun.
- Realistic psychology of the characters.
- Grotesque representations, full of flying carpets and talking fish.
- Contemporary problems of interpersonal relationships.
- Difficult emotions, shown in a subtle way.
- Ideal bedtime stories for adults.
- Intriguing volume, artistic and psychological.
Grzesiak's prose is inventive - both sad and funny, realistic in the sphere of psychology and grotesque on the level of representations. In the universe of her short narrative forms, there are flying carpets, talking fish and court proceedings about bad thoughts, but their theme is complicated, thoroughly contemporary, problems of interpersonal relations and difficult and shameful emotions. The whole is maintained in good tone - not over-stylized, not excessive in language. Ideal bedtime stories for tired and burnt-out adults, I recommend instead of xanax.
Sublimation is an artistically intriguing, as well as psychologically, volume consisting of ten short stories, whose author has made a complex procedure of passing the love drama through the prism of oneirism and grotesque. And when the word drama falls, we rightly think of despair, unbearable torment, suffering. As you know, there is no good literary convention that allows you to speak originally and without banalities about a love trauma, about wounded pride and abused feelings. Meanwhile, these short prose show such a possibility, because they transfer them to another reality, to another dimension, putting them in a psychedelic quotation mark. They are connected by the issue of the mental price that a woman comes to pay for love and the effort to heal spiritual mutilations after a ruined relationship.
