Two Moons is a collection of short stories in which Maria Kuncewiczowa nostalgically and tenderly recalls Kazimierz Dolny, the town she loved and made famous. In her texts, she captures the spirit of the era, showing both the beauty of the landscape and the complexity of human relationships. It is a literary journey through time that allows us to move to a world that has irrevocably passed.

Kuncewiczowa first visited Kazimierz Dolny in the 1920s. Delighted by its charm and atmosphere, she settled there permanently and dedicated many of her works to it. In 1938, she received honorary citizenship of the city for its fame, and Two Moons became one of the most important symbols of Kazimierz. After the war, the collection was supplemented with further texts, and this edition, with an introduction by Marta Strzelecka, provides a complete and comprehensive picture of Kuncewiczowa's work related to this unique place.

In 1993, Andrzej Barański directed a film of the same title, inspired by Kuncewiczowa's short stories. The film featured a host of outstanding actors such as Krzysztof Kolberger, Artur Barciś, Jan Frycz, Anna Polony, Stanisława Celińska, Krystyna Feldman, Joanna Szczepkowska, Beata Tyszkiewicz, Henryk Bista and Franciszek Pieczka. Barański's film is a visual interpretation of Kuncewiczowa's literary world, which further popularized Kazimierz Dolny and its extraordinary atmosphere.

This edition of Two Moons is not only a must-read for lovers of Kazimierz Dolny, but also for all those who appreciate beautiful literature and want to move to a magical world of the past.
