"East of Bari" is the story of twenty-year-old Marta, who, after difficult life experiences, decides to move to an estate on the outskirts of Bari. There she is employed as a caretaker for a malicious older woman. The initial difficulties, such as language barriers and the difficult character of her charge, are just the beginning of the challenges that await her in Italy. Marta does not expect that her life will change irrevocably.

Her path crosses with the old woman's grandson, a handsome lawyer who is embroiled in dangerous family intrigues. Unaware of the dangers, Marta is drawn into the midst of the secrets, and the trip, which was supposed to be an escape, becomes a turning point in her life. Amidst the sunny Italian landscape, Marta discovers that sometimes what seems like an end can be the beginning of something completely new - something that will change her life forever.
