The author describes with humor and reflection the African ethnic mosaic, where in the Democratic Republic of Congo there are over 400 ethnic groups, on the Ivory Coast about 100, and in Tanzania 124. About each of these groups there are stories - proud as a Masai, capable as a Chaga or lazy as a Gogo. This African mosaic has been described colorfully and with humor, although there is no shortage of reflection and analytical approach.

Jerzy Gilarowski is a geographer and specializes in African issues. He lectures at Polish (University of Warsaw, Almamer Higher School, Higher School of Euroregional Economics) and African (University of Dar es Salaam, University of Dodoma, University of Rwanda) universities. He is the author of scientific papers and those that popularize knowledge about Africa, to which this book belongs.
