Stanisław Jakubowski (1885-1964) is an extremely interesting figure. Associated with Przemyśl, and then with Krakow, he was an artist with versatile horizons and aspirations. Leszek Gardeła (1984) is a doctor habilitated in archeology, one of the leading specialists in the field of studies on early medieval Slavdom and Scandinavia. He is the manager and participant of numerous research projects in Denmark, Iceland, Germany, Norway, Poland, Great Britain and the Isle of Man, and the author of seven monographs and nearly 200 articles. For 20 years, he has been collecting works by Stanisław Jakubowski and other Polish artists who were close to ancient Slavdom. His monograph is not only a scientific study, but also a personal story about the fascination with the artist and his work.
