The first volume of the series, entitled "Smart City. Innovative system of reverse logistics management in municipal waste management", focused on the perspective of local government units. This monograph, the second volume, focuses on the residents of municipalities, analyzing their perception and assessment of the waste management system. The authors examine how residents assess the importance of individual elements of the system and the degree of their implementation in their municipalities. The third volume of the series, which is currently being finalized, will be devoted to logistics companies operating in the system.

The aim of the presented research is to determine what factors influence the satisfaction of residents as customers and co-creators of waste management processes. The authors analyze how residents perceive the effectiveness of the system, its impact on the environment and the comfort of life. The research results can be used to optimize the waste management system, improve communication with residents and increase their involvement in the process.

The monograph is a valuable source of knowledge for local governments, enterprises and all those interested in the issues of municipal waste management and reverse logistics. The presented analyzes and conclusions can contribute to the creation of more effective and sustainable waste management systems that take into account the needs and expectations of residents.

The publishing house of Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin presents this publication as an important contribution to the development of knowledge about municipal waste management in Poland. The "Smart City" series is a unique collection of theoretical and empirical analyzes on the publishing market, covering the system of municipal waste management in the context of current logistics processes and development perspectives.
