At the turn of the 1940s and 1950s, the opposition in the Polish Socialist Party in exile accused the party authorities of betraying the ideals of socialism and democracy. The party left wing denied the sense of cooperation with the reaction (especially with the National Party), and also rejected emigration legalism, advocating cooperation with the Polish People's Party. In 1955, the secessionists founded their own grouping: the Polish Social Democratic Party.
The Polish Social Democratic Party was to be a socialist alternative in exile, but in reality it did not gain much support and turned out to be a political ephemera. Eventually, after more than six years, most of its activists returned to the fold of the PPS. The publication of the Institute of National Remembrance (IPN) guarantees a high level of content and historical reliability of the presented facts. This book is a valuable source of knowledge for all those interested in the history of Poland and Polish political emigration.
The book, published in 2016, has 176 pages and a paperback cover. Its format is 240x170x19 mm. It is a publication that should interest all history enthusiasts, especially those who want to deepen their knowledge about Polish political emigration after World War II and its impact on shaping Polish national identity.
