In Witcher: Old World, the action takes place many years before the events of the saga of Geralt of Rivia, in a time when a plague of monsters ravaged the Continent. The only ones who could counteract it were the witchers - professional killers trained to fight creatures hostile to humans. Players compete to collect from 4 to 6 Trophies, and the first person to do so wins, bringing honor and glory to their school.

Trophies can be obtained in many ways, including killing monsters, fighting other witchers in taverns, increasing the level of your Attributes and completing specific Quests. During the game, players create a unique deck of cards, combining attacks and using the special abilities of the witcher school. Quests, skirmishes and bone poker will allow them to acquire new items and money and develop their skills.
