Tomasz Sommer, the author of the book, is a pioneer in research on the genocide committed on the Polish population by the authorities of the Soviet Union in 1937-1938, known as the anti-Polish operation of the NKVD. He is also the author of studies on the crime committed in Jedwabne. Since the 1990s, editor of the weekly Najwyższy CZAS! and since 2007 its co-owner. Author of numerous books and documentaries, historian and journalist, PhD in sociology from the Polish Academy of Sciences.
