This monograph is a continuation of cyclical scientific meetings that originated in 2019 on the initiative of researchers from the Institute of Political Science and Administration of UMCS in Lublin, the Faculty of Political and Information Management of the Ostroh Academy in Ostroh, and the Socio-Economic Institute of the Zamość Academy. Over time, this conference has proven to be not only an important intellectual event, but also a platform for the exchange of views and experiences between researchers representing various disciplines and scientific communities.

The analyses contained in this volume can be assigned to three main areas: the theoretical conceptualization of health threats, the diversity of conceptual thinking about counteracting health security threats, and the complexity of the effects of contemporary health threats. The presented monograph does not exhaust the complexity and diversity of health security threats and responses to them. It is a proposal to address this research problem, an important point of reference and at the same time an invitation to broaden and deepen the analysis of this topic.

It can also be considered as a kind of starting point for future research on other non-traditional dimensions of security specific to the 21st century. This publication is not only a collection of articles, but also an inspiration for further research and analysis in the field of security in globalization processes.
